The actress didn't sugarcoat the difficulties of the journey, describing the flight experience as particularly challenging. "I thought I was going to die on the plane. He whined the entire time and finally fell asleep three hours before arrival," she wrote, highlighting the exhausting nature of long-haul flights with infants.

Upon arrival in Hawaii, things didn't go as smoothly as hoped. Hwang Bo Ra revealed that her son developed a fever immediately after landing, forcing the family to stay indoors for two full days. She shared that they ended up making daily trips to Palama Market instead of enjoying restaurant meals, as they "couldn't eat out even once."

The actress detailed several challenging moments during their attempted sightseeing:

  • Her son became irritable during tours, falling asleep and needing to be taken off activities repeatedly
  • At the zoo, he went into a deep sleep after seeing dogs bark just twice
  • During the Diamond Head excursion, the grandparents hiked while she stayed below with the sleeping child
  • An ice box she purchased with high hopes was immediately broken
