NCT's Doyoung Clarifies Military Service Timing

NCT member Doyoung has directly addressed recent online speculation regarding the timing of his mandatory military enlistment. Following the announcement of his service date, various social media posts and forum discussions emerged suggesting he deliberately delayed his enlistment.

Breaking His Silence

During a recent live broadcast, the idol revealed he carefully considered whether to publicly address the accusations. After much deliberation, Doyoung decided to speak openly about the situation to set the record straight.

"I honestly wondered for a long time whether I should talk about this or not," Doyoung shared with viewers. "After the enlistment news came out, so many people were saying all kinds of things. In that moment, I wasn't sure if I should respond right away or take some time to think."

Setting The Record Straight

The NCT member firmly denied the allegations, explaining that his enlistment date naturally followed the completion of his professional commitments. He emphasized that the timing was not a result of deliberate postponement.

"To some, it may seem as though I'm enlisting very late. What a lot of people said so casually, whether as a joke or out of genuine belief — that's absolutely not true," Doyoung stated. "It's just that after completing each and every thing right before me, this time has come."

Professional Commitments Come First

Doyoung referenced specific projects that required his attention, including his musical The Man Who Laughs and the Momentum concert. He explained that he worked through these commitments sequentially, and his enlistment date arrived after fulfilling these professional obligations.

The idol stressed that his decision-making process was thoughtful and appropriate for his circumstances, similar to how others approach their mandatory service. He noted that everyone makes choices suitable for themselves and those they work with.

Joining Fellow Third-Generation Idols

By directly confronting the rumors, Doyoung effectively dispelled the narrative questioning his commitment to fulfilling his military duty. He will soon join numerous other third-generation male K-pop idols who have entered military service in recent years.
